Teeth Whitening

A smile can make or break a first impression, and an otherwise flawless smile can be diminished by stains and discoloration.

At Danner Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we want all of our patients to be able to put their best smile forward. There’s no need to feel self-conscious about the color of your teeth with our simple and effective in-office whitening treatments.

Our practice uses Zoom teeth whitening products to enhance and brighten smiles in under an hour. Contact us to schedule a consultation and find out how you can improve your dental aesthetics in just one visit.

How Does Teeth Whitening Work?

Just like your skin, your teeth have pores. Over time, the natural process of eating and drinking will discolor your teeth as these substances come into contact with those pores, permeating them.

Certain foods and drinks are worse than others in this regard. For instance, coffee, tea, and red wine are all well-known sources of stains, as well as foods like blueberries and tomato sauce.

Teeth whiteners use a bleaching gel that soak into the pores of your teeth, breaking down the chemical bonds of the stains. This eliminates those minute particles and brightens your teeth by several shades.

What to Expect at Danner Family & Cosmetic Dentistry

Our compassionate team will guide you through everything you need to know about the whitening procedure.

It is always recommended that you receive a cleaning before teeth whitening is performed. Not only is this good for your oral health, it gives the bleaching gel a cleaner surface to work with, making its job easier and more efficient.

When you’re ready for your whitening, Dr. Danner will prepare you for treatment by covering the gums and soft tissues to protect them from the potent gel. The whitener is then applied to your teeth and left in place for about 45 minutes.

After the gel is removed, you’ll see an unmistakably more radiant smile! It should be noted that some patients experience sensitivity in their teeth for a period of time following the treatment. This is normal, harmless, and always fades away.
